PROGRESS TO DATE (August 2025)
Pictures and text from Hidroaguagrun
Beginning two months ago, the members of the association for renewable energy of the Aguagrun River (Hidgroaguagrun) have begun work to take advantage of the dry period when the river has less water, which facilitates measurements, inspection, repairs, and determining where the pipes will go. In the photos below, you can see how the work has been realized.
- The installation of fencing and security signs on the territory where the mini-turbine will be constructed
- Topographical work and laying out of the networks of pipes
- Association assemblies and technical meetings to make decisions (selecting the type of pipes, the system model for water capture)
- Measurement of hydrological flow in the river
- Inspection of the engineering and design equipment
- Repairing the access road
On July 31, the community engaged in collective work to build the cofferdam (a temporary enclosure designed to create a dry work area for construction or repair activities). At the end of September, they hope to start building the catchment area and by November to being putting in the pipes.
In addition to the photos below, you can see an aerial view of the project here.
