Connecting the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts to the Intag River Valley in Ecuador to build a sustainable future for us all.
We can’t wait for governments to do the right thing. We are the ones who have to do the right thing, right now. Help us raise $200,000 for a community in Ecuador to generate clean energy and stop mining companies from destroying the local environment.
We are working with a group of residents who live along the Aguagrun River, a tributary of the Intag River, who have formed a cooperative to generate renewable energy as part of an alternative, sustainable economy in 2022.
They need $200,000 to build a micro-hydro plant that will provide energy for farmers, craftspeople, and ecotourism projects. We hope that this will be the first of many sister relationships between the Global North and the Global South. Donations to this project would support building a water collection system, an aqueduct, and a machine house, allowing for everything from cement to electronics to be purchased! Every dollar you contribute goes directly to Ecuador to make this project a reality.
Our target goal is $200,000
So far we have raised $5,155
